Medical Imaging of Pentalogy of Cantrell: A Case Report from Zambia

Medical imaging plays a significant role in the detection of foetal anomalies, such as Pentalogy Cantrell (POC). POC is congenital anomaly involving five or fewer body malformations: ectopia cordis (EC), tetralogy fallot (TOF), sternal defects, diaphragmatic and abdominal wall defects. The commonly used modality during pregnancy ultrasound because it uses non-ionising radiation, cheap, available most medical facilities. We report rare case from standpoint Zambia. Two obstetric scans were performed 3rd trimester. initial scan revealed, among other things, unappreciated contents, while second revealed heart sited partially external to thoracic cavity, with herniation liver bowels. Our was classified incomplete not all main malformations present. This highlights importance having well-organised services both urban rural parts country improve antenatal care.
